Joining the Next Gen / Gamertag Added

At the weekend there the alsoran, while walking along his local main street, chanced upon a sign reading “XBOX 360s Now In Stock”. Now while there’s been a large grey 360 Dev-Kit sitting on his desk for the last 6 months or so, which has recently been accompanied by a rather large Samsung HDTV, he had yet to enjoy the XBOX at home. Not least because Microsoft’s Dev-Kits (unlike the PS2′s) cannot actually play retail games.

The only thing that can be said about this purchase is that there are no regrets whatsoever – with every game and demo, right down to the flawless front-end of the system itself all screaming Next-Gen. Those cautious types waiting for the PS3 would do good to get on the bandwagon ASAP – by the time that sleeping beast rears it’s head, Microsoft’s machine will have a year’s worth of fine-tuning it’s online setup to a degree that no poly-pushing advantage the PS3 might have will count. This is the next generation.

Saying that, a friend’s recent meeting with Nintendo tells that the Revolution’s true secret has yet to be announced…
