BWC #27 – Spineless Zombie

Would the dead really rise in such a manner? The incredibly flexible upper body betrays the IK spline spine rig, which, while allowing for easier access to dynamic posing, provides unnatural results when animated – unless that is desired?

BWC #26 – Iron Woman

The alsoran hopes to god that the reference for this work was taken from someone working out on a ski exercise machine – that might explain the linear hand movement and torso tension. Thankfully the excellent rig was illustrated at the beginning, divulging the secrets of the creation of this masterwork – apparently you can never have too many pole-vectors.

BWC #25 – Catwalk Doll

Clearly a cruel parody of real fashion models, this lifeless character’s head and arms swing with wild abandon as the puppet strings holding them are ripped away from her in a manner akin to the tearing of the skirt mesh around the hips – but this trooper still forces a smile despite the pain she must endure from those arthritic knees.

Final Mocap Shoot

This week the alsoran returned from the final LA mocap shoot for his current project. Mocap direction is becoming easier with each new visit, with tips and tricks learned every session. This one required multiple actions to be recorded in a short time due to the only female actor having a stricter deadline, and the solution lay in creating a completely fabricated situation for the actors in order to get them to play multiple parts with unrelated actions in succession, which was a success.

BWC #24 – Havanah Stroll

Aaaaaah, a true classic. What naked moon walk would be complete without donning those fantastic slippery cuban heels and shades. Presumably this satellite’s curious horizontal gravitational anomaly explains the character’s need to lean backwards whilst traversing this incredibly dull terrain. As our intrepid hero eclipses the sun, his confident turn to the camera can only be agreeing with the viewer – “I know. The heels look good”.
