Thanks guys,

Coincidentally, I just picked up the latest issue of Practical Web Design and it has a feature on taking advantage of cloud computing. While it mostly focuses on web-storage and hosting solutions rather than productivity suites, there are couple of interesting things in there:

http://www.thinkgos.com/ - Operating system
http://aws.amazon.com/ - Amazon's web services
http://www.spotify.com/en/ - Music storage/sharing, Europe only :-(

If this keeps up I may consider a netbook for moving around the house with the laptop as a desktop...

(BTW, Hi Luke - APB is looking pretty sweet!)

Hey Jonathan,

It's been a while hasn't it! Love the blog, looks like you keep up an impressive pace :)

There is *tonnes* of web-based software out there nowadays, and more new ones every day. It's definitely the in thing just now. Here are a few that spring to mind, just off the top of my head:
http://eyeos.org/
http://280slides.com/
http://www.rememberthemilk.com/
http://www.dipity.com/
http://www.picnik.com/
http://www.dabbledb.com/
http://box.net/

There are no doubt way more.

I think you'll have a fair wait for 3D animation software though - support for 3D in the browser isn't that great and it's a pretty niche market.
