Videogame archivist @VGDensetsu has two great tumblrs featuring pixel art tools from Sega and SNK. It’s fantastic to see the connection between paper-drawn pixels being translated into early computer art.

First off is the Sega Digitizer System, shown below used to create the pixel art for classic arcade game Golden Axe, released in 1989.
